Astronauts | short film, 18 minutes, 2022
In early 2000s Vienna, heaviness and weightlessness merge into a portrait of a desperate woman and simultaneously a call for a self-determined life. We follow Carla, a single mother, palpable in constrained images. Only when Carla meets a queer astronaut in a karaoke bar does gravity begin to dissolve. However, it becomes clear that self-liberating life decisions are marked by tragic ambivalence. Script in collaboration with Mariano Cabac

Apropos of Logic | video performance, 6 minutes, 2015
In a Vienna soccer stadium, 13 female artists perform Franz Kaltenbeck’s 1977 art manifesto ‘The Criteria of the Avant-Garde’ as an opera. This iconic text outlines the principles of the avant-garde movement. By applying its content to a soccer game and transforming it through rhythm and melody, the performers deconstruct its meaning, creating a new avant-garde artwork. Apropos Of Logic becomes a playful and provocative meditation on language, demystifying academic writing and making it accessible through cathartic performance. In collaboration with Katarina Csanyiova.

Less Point More Cornerstone | video performance, 7 minutes, 2013
Franz Kaltenbeck’s 1977 manifesto, The Criteria of the Avant-Garde, was adapted into a pop song with a classical structure (intro, verse, pre-chorus, chorus), featuring two bass lines, electronic beats, and a ukulele. The text, embodying the avant-garde movement and its artistic standards, underwent a transformation in its rigid gestural flow and language, offering a new context for interpretation. This adaptation challenges the timeliness of past ideas, including the very concept of the ‘avant-garde.’

Connection of Three Spaces | video performance, 11 minutes, 2012
Deconstructing the co- existence of word and image – the relation between artwork and agency, I appropriated the words of a renowned Conceptual Artist from a video about his work that was installed at gallery space in 2011 and I placed them into a new context: the University. Therefore, the scenery I stumble across – monitors, movable walls, utensils, etc. – were declared as my own work of art through the appropriated and recited words.

Another room | 16 mm film, 2 minutes, 2011
Viewers were led to believe a 16mm film was found in the institution’s archives, forgotten and poorly preserved before the exhibition. The exhibition text explained what the film depicted – five people with costumes and props from different epochs-, but no valid information about its origin.
By exhibiting it, it was shown that history exists between archive and life, past and reality. The fiction became reality through its inscription into the institution.

{Uterus = Space = Universe} | experimental video, 5 minutes, 2007
The ultrasound capturing of my uterus is compared to examining the universe with the Hubble Space Telescope, using visible light waves on an auditory level. To juxtapose these systems and make the dimensions of the micro- and macrocosm audible, I used pure tones derived from a mathematical formula based on images of both spaces.
The video investigates analogies and the uterus, laden with social connotations as a female space of transformation, mirrors our universe.
